Large Trash by Municipality
A comprehensive guide to large trash and bulky waste pickup services in New Jersey municipalities
Understanding Large Trash Pickup
Large trash pickup, also known as bulky waste or bulk trash collection, is a special service provided by many New Jersey municipalities to help residents dispose of items that are too large for regular garbage collection. This typically includes furniture, appliances, mattresses, and other oversized household items.
Each municipality has its own rules, schedules, and accepted items for large trash pickup. Below, we've compiled information from several municipalities in our service area to help you understand what's available in your community.
Note: Information is based on publicly available data from municipal websites. Always verify current schedules and requirements with your local municipality.

General Tips for Large Trash Disposal
1. Check Your Local Schedule
Large trash pickup schedules vary by municipality. Always verify current information with your local government.
2. Prepare Items Properly
Bundle and tie items like carpets and rugs. Remove doors from refrigerators and freezers for safety. Drain water from water heaters.
3. Place Items at the Curb
Items should be placed at the curb, not blocking sidewalks or streets. Set them out by the designated time (usually 7:00 AM).
4. Know What's Not Accepted
Most municipalities do not accept construction debris, hazardous materials, tires, or automotive parts through large trash pickup.
5. Consider Alternative Options
For items not accepted by municipal pickup, consider donation, private hauling services, or environmental centers.
